In the beginning...

Red Riding Hood was shocked by the secret that Big Bad Wolf whispered in her ear.
"Marti has begun to Blog!"
Hello Blog Browsers - welcome to Kinkor's Korner. I hope to use this place to journal about my life and my creative endeavors.
Pictured here are Red Riding Hood and the Wolf. I made these dolls from Gail Wilson kits. I highly recommend trying her kits if you are at all interested in making quality dolls with lots of attention to detail.
This project began two or three years ago. I was surfing through listings at E Bay under "doll patterns" looking for something inspiring and I came across a listing for a "Wolf" doll kit. The description said it was a never opened kit with everything included to make a wolf doll that was supposed to be a companion to Red Riding Hood. I didn't know who Gail Wilson was, but I was interested in the concept of a kit with everything but the stuffing in it, so I bid on the auction and won. I was quite pleased with the kit when it arrived and went straight to work at making the doll. I think I had it made in a couple of days. I was tickled with how well it came out, but it was an oddity by itself - now I wanted to find a Red Riding Hood kit. I did a web search and found GailWilsonsDesigns.com where I was happy to see the companion kit for sale - but the price was a little too high for my spending limit at the time so I put off buying the kit for several months. Then Gail had a close out sale on some of her older patterns and this one was included, so I finally bought the kit. I was even more delighted with it than I had been with the wolf kit, and I went to work and quickly made the little doll. But I got as far as having her pantaloons done and her dress half finished and then I put it aside. Depression had sucked me into its darkness again and I lost interest in things that I had enjoyed. So little Red Riding Hood sat around in her bloomers - getting shuffled under piles of clutter for over a year... and then one day in the middle of winter the clouds started to lift and I finally found the drive to finish the little doll.
